Internship showcasing

The skills that I have gained at Year Up are being persistent, time management, networking, troubleshooting, writing comprehension, efficiency in software and presentation skills. The main skill I anticipate on displaying when I first go to my internship at Salesforce.com is my ability to manage time. What I mean by that is I will always present to my manager my ability to be on time, and reliable. I want my manager to have no doubt in my work capabilities, I want to be that person who is always called upon even late night emergency calls. The only question I have for Salesforce.com is how can I assure my position as an intern to be permanent? I know my work environment is going to be hectic, I see myself running around from different floor levels networking to complete my tasks given to me. I vision myself in constant communication with VP's and CEO's, i'm hoping I do not fail and can complete every task efficiently. I am going to be working under Ebony the vice president of Salesforce.com, so I know i'm going to need to be on my toes 24/7. I've been told she has no patience for people who lack motivation and initiative. I met her during the time she came and presented as one of our guest speakers, and since then I knew she was the manager I wanted to work under, she influenced me. I hope when I am at my internship my presentation and communication skills go from being experienced to proficient.  I want by the time i'm done with my internship to be comfortable with being at one peace with my professional side. I plan to be the assistant of Ebony at Salesforce.com, what ever she needs done I will be the one to do it. I plan to network and produce quality work as my way of standing out in the work place. If  all goes well I will have a job by the end of internship, if not then I plan on going back to school to finish my associates degree.

Holidays!

The finally of my holiday break was spent having dinner on Thursday with my god mom. She finally! is pregnant with her first baby and is receiving her doctrine after years of hard work, we celebrated and gave a toast to her accomplishments before the new year. On Friday I drove down to Santa Rosa to my car dealership to get it worked on. That opened up the opportunity for me, to see my family in the north bay, which was great. I had to leave my car at the shop while the mechanics worked on it, so my friend Julia and I came to a unanimity that she was going to picked me up. We went back to her place and caught up with each others lives since we haven't really hung out since this summer. Later on my cousin came and picked us up, we accompanied him and his friend to the barber shop, we were there for about three hours! If that's not love for my cousin, to be stuck with a whole bunch of guys gossiping at a barbershop for that long, then I have a misunderstanding on the definition of love. For New Years Eve I came home to get freshened up and went over my girl friends house to finish getting ready. We celebrated with a bottle of champion and gave a toast to the count down for the new year, and I went to sleep.

Holidays!

During the first week of break I took the time to clean my house and spent some time at home. Usually my time is spent at school, work, aunts, parents, friends or some where else besides my house. During the time I spent cleaning the house, I used that as my time to relax. That was on Monday. Tuesday, gave me the chance to look over my budget for the year. After that, I got ready to start having fun for my one week winter break. I connected with one of my friends and we went rollerblading. During the time we were skating I thought I was skilled enough to do some tricks, being that the last time I had skated was the year before. An accident occurred that had my thumb nail detaching from my nail bed and completely bent backwards. I was bleeding traumatically while I put the nail back in place to align with the rest of my thumb. I cleaned off and kept on skating till our time came to stop skatting. Same day my friend and I went to dinner and a movie and watched Mission impossible with Tom Cruise, which was brilliant. The next day I went to Year Up to pick up my check and greeted my colleagues, along with staff. I had gotten a head start on my homework assignments that was given to me before I went on break. I ended that day with being a judge for the competing poets at a poetry slam.
